Periwinkle What?
I can't stand watching anything on FSN Northwest, maybe I found out why. This is Cara Capuano calling the Wazzu/Arizona basketball game last season. Yikes.
Stupid Sideline Quote of the Day: "And the ball will roll into the endzone for a touchdown" - Greg Gumbel referring to a punt that went out of bound s in yesterday's Titans/Bucs game. Bryant would've made the same mistake too Greg.

Breaking News: Skip Prosser Dead at 56
It has been reported that Wake Forest Men's Basketball head coach Skip Prosser died today at the age of 56. According to Fox Sports, Prosser succumbed to a heart attack shortly after jogging this morning. I remember Prosser from their last NCAA tourney appearance, in which they played a thrilling 3 OT game to West Virginia, in which they lost 111-105. This is a very sad day in the world of sports, that a well respected coach, just finishing his jog, ends up dead.
This has been a terrible year for sports so far. Whether it's Michael Vick or Pacman Jones running in with the law, or the deaths of coaches like Terry Hoeppner, Mike Coolbaugh, and now Skip Prosser, it has been a tragic year. I didn't even mention the two Denver Bronco players in Darrent Williams and Damien Nash dying tragically. Let's hope that these final months of the year are memorable not for tragedies or crime off the field, but for the sake of the players and coaches successfulness on the field.

Spencer Hawes likes money
Spencer Hawes from the University of Washington is leaving for the NBA draft, but has not hired an agent. That means that he CAN come back to the UW and help them get back to the tourney. Honestly, I think Hawes is making a bad decision by going to the draft, considering he was sick for half of the year and was inconsistent throughout. He is a softy, and can't compete with the other guys. Obviously the real reason for the freshman jump for Spencer is the $38 million he can make if he's a top 10 pick.
In an unrelated story: Former St. Louis Rams and Seahawks player Grant Wistrom retired today, saying that if he wanted to end his career with the Rams, he would've grabbed life by the horns.
