The Cleveland Browns are Going to be Extra Busy

This came from the SI.com recap of the Rams/Hawks from 2 weeks ago. What's up with the Browns?

So are the Rams AND the Seahawks playing the Browns together? Or would that mean that the Browns would have to go to St. Louis to face the Rams (again), and then fly back to play Seattle on the same day?? Help me out here!

Rafer Alston Likes Jail

Houston Rockets player Rafer Alston was booked on charges of stabbing a man in a Manhattan nightclub. This comes a whopping 21 days after he was arrested for DUI. What the heck is up with these players? They're constantly complaining about Gary Thorne people stereotyping the NBA as a "thug" league. However, they turn around and stab someone, deal out drugs, or shoot someone. To me, if this keeps happening, the NBA is going to go down the tubes. What? It already is?

Stephon Marbury Re-Defines Stupidity

Thanks Stephon, we can always count on you to back Michael Vick. The tough part is, that Marbury's words are barely intelligible.

You're Kidding!

Late last night, I was watching the replay of the whipping of Arturo Gatti against Floyd Mayweather. The fight was on ESPN, and instead of using the HBO commentators, they used some recorded commentary with Joe Tessitore and Joe Mesi. So at the 3rd or 4th round, Tessitore tells us this.....

"Floyd Mayweather is the nephew of Roger Mayweather, his uncle."- Joe Tessitore

Now believe it or not, if Floyd is the nephew of Roger, we already know that Roger's the uncle! That's almost the same thing as saying that a guy is a homosexual, and is married to a man. But just to fill air time, Tessitore brilliantly points out the obvious. On the other hand, I could be listening to Jim Lampley, who has found a way to butcher the English language with words like "tireder".

YES!!!!!!!!! The Sonics are #2!

Breaking News, the Seattle Supersonics have taken the 2nd pick in the 2007 NBA Draft. The number 1 pick goes to the Portland Trail Blazers! The only way I could be angry at Seattle, is if.....

A. They trade their pick.

B. Draft a foreign superstar.

Either of those things happen, I'll go down to Sonics Headquarters, find Lenny Wilkens, and drop him on the space needle then I know the Sonics are doomed.

If you were expecting the other 12 lottery picks, you shouldn't be reading this blog. Go on ESPN, and find it.

Update: The Seattle Times website has messed up again.

State tournaments

The Seattle Sonics have been awarded the 2nd pick in the 2007 NBA draft.

Hmmm, State Tournaments, NBA? I think they rushed their story a little bit.

I kid you not

This is the headline on the www.seattletimes.com.

I haven't fooled around with this quote. I'm telling the truth, seriously, this is 100% true.

"Seattle's Felix Hernandez strikes out San Diego's Russell Branyan with the bases loaded to end the fifth inning. But the M's still trailed behind, and the Padres stayed ahead to win the today's game."

Ok, let's go in a little closer.

But the M's still trailed behind.

Excuse me, but what was that again?

trailed behind.

Yeah, as opposed to trailing ahead?

Great one Seattle Times.

When do these people learn?

Several times a year, we have people in Seattle getting hit by trains near Safeco Field. Typically, they are on their way to see the Mariners lose play against whoever. On Saturday, the same thing happened again, when 2 men grew impatient of the train passing, and one of them tried to cross the tracks in between 2 train cars. His foot got stuck, and he got run over. Currently, the man is seriously injured and may lose his foot. The other man with him was not hit.

Now, why can't these people just wait for the train to pass? Considering that they only have to wait a couple of minutes is the least they can do. The stupid thing is, the fact that this is consistently happening, and none of the reported incidents were suicide attempts.

Then again, I remembered, this is Seattle, the coffee drinking capital of America.
